The the number one skin concern for women and men over 40 is sagging skin and loss of definition to the face and neck.
We are delighted to be one of the first clinics in the country to offer the Jowl Lift, a ground-breaking, a minimally invasive treatment that delivers a rejuvenated facelift effect without the pain or downtime of surgery.
The polydioxanone (PDO) thread lift is an excellent treatment for re-contouring the jaw line, smoothing loose skin on the neck and decolletage and lift the face. It can also be used to lift sagging skin around the eyes and cheeks creating a more youthful profile, with long lasting results.
PDO Thread Lift is effective for treating:
Sagging eyebrows
Drooping cheeks
Jowls
Nose to mouth lines and marionette lines
Turkey neck
Neck lines
Wrinkles on the decolletage
Nose
Abdomen, buttocks, arms, calves and areas affected by cellulite
How does it work?
The PDO thread lift is a procedure in which specialised CE approved surgical threads made from polydioxanone are injected into the skin using a fine needle/cannula. The threads are interlaced causing a tension in the skin which delivers an instant lift.
The threads dissolve after 6-8 months. During this time they stimulate the production of “new” collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, thickening and strengthening the skin from within and improving elasticity so it retains a lifted appearance for up to 2 years post treatment.
FAQ’s
How do thread lifts differ?
There are several thread lift treatments on the market. Some involve several incisions in the skin while others use threads with barbs (cogs) or screws on them which keep them in place. Only the highest quality CE approved products are used.
Does the procedure hurt?
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and is relatively painless.
What will my skin look like afterwards?
You may experience some mild bruising, swelling and tenderness at and around the injection sites.
What happens after treatment?
We suggest you avoid strenuous exercise at least 7 days. Patients receive prophylactic antibiotics for three days and are asked to avoid going to the gym for 72 hrs. Patients will often return back to work the same day depending on the extent of the procedure undertaken.
How long before I see results?
Results are visible immediately and last up to 3 years depending on the individual. Results improve over the first 8 weeks in general due to settling of the face.
What are the risks and complications?
All non-invasive procedures carry a small amount of risk which is why they are only administered after a face to face consultation with one of our doctors/nurses during which a full assessment will be carried out and a full list of cautions and contraindications discussed.
Is the PDO thread lift my only option?
No, there are several other treatments that may be more suitable for your skin concern including Dermal Filler Injections, Botox, Sculptra, Radiesse, Micro-Meso Microneedling (Dermaroller), facial peels or the PRP Vampire facial. Before you undergo any of our treatments you will be invited for a consultation with a member of our team who will analyse your skin and help you decide which treatment option is most suitable.
